The Netherlands Education Group Appoints Oppong Brenya as Country Representative

The Netherlands Education Group has appointed Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya as its new Country Representative in Ghana. Prior to this role, Brenya served as Director at the National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Programme (NEIP), a flagship initiative of the Ghanaian government aimed at supporting start-ups and small businesses through incubation, acceleration, and funding.

During his tenure at NEIP, Brenya played a key role in implementing the World Bank’s Hubs Acceleration Grant Programme under the Ghana Economic Transformation Programme.

He also led the successful implementation of the World University Service of Canada’s INVEST project, which empowered young women in male-dominated trades by strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training systems and providing business support.

As Country Representative, he will be responsible

  • Promoting TNEG Programs: Promoting Stichting Libertas International’s programs and partnerships across Ghana and Africa
  • Representation: Representing TNEG at relevant events, seminars, and official functions
  • Partnerships: Coordinating with regional educational and recruitment bodies to establish collaborative ventures
  • Workforce Mobility: Assisting in placement and workforce mobility initiatives aligned with EU standards
  • Strategic Input: Providing quarterly reports and strategic input for marketing plans in the region

The Netherlands Education Group (TNEG) offers short-term professional development courses and educational programs, including English language courses and MBA programs, in Amsterdam. With a focus on practical and soft skills for career advancement, TNEG’s programs often incorporate study visits to companies and international organizations.

JOSEPH OSEI OPPONG BRENYA is an Entrepreneur, SME growth Consultant and a Journalist. He is an expert in Public Policy, Governance & Leadership,International Relations, Law, Diplomacy and security and Public Administration.

OPPONG BRENYA 38 years of age has the passion to ensure young people establish their own business and employ others to reduce the youth unemployment in his country. He was the Director of Corporate Affairs at the National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Programme from January 2017 to January 2025.

Oppong Brenya is an LGBTQ+ advocate who believes people with different sexual preferences must not be criminalised just on the bases of who they are.

He had his Senior and Junior High Education from Osei Tutu Senior High School in Kumasi Presby School in Bolgatanga. I hail from Essuowin in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

Work Experience
Mr. Oppong-Brenya is currently the CEO Bizline Consult, Biztourism, Bizline Wholesales and Xpl Media and Publicity Agency.

In 2017, the former President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo appointed Oppong Brenya to the position of Director for Corporate Affairs at the National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Programme-NEIP.

His task was to ensure the Ghanaian youth gets access to funding, training, mentorship, Business Advisory Services, business incubation and acceleration to help youth businesses to grow and new ones to emerge whiles helping to shape the entrepreneurial eco-system, a task i successfully delivered.

Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya a trained Journalist and started my career as a journalist in Bolgatanga at Style Fm, A1 Radio and Word FM.

He later joined the Multimedia Group as a news reporter for Joy Fm, Asempa Fm, Adom Fm (Multimedia Group)

Mr. Brenya also wrote for some newspapers like the Vanguard Newspaper, the New Crusading Guide, News Break, and others. He worked with EIB Network as a news reporter for Ultimate FM in Kumasi, Starr Fm in Accra and other EIB Network platforms.

Oppong owns Xpl Media and Publicity Agency, a private media Consultancy Firm and an online news portal.

Professional Achievements

Oppong Brenya was instrumental in the successful implementation of a world Bank Programme known as the Hubs Accelerations Grant Programme of the SME Development Component of the Ghana Economic Transformation Programme-GETP.
